Significant achievements of Viglacera in 2017

The year of 2017 is considered as a successful year for Viglacera Corporation-JSC with various notable achievements, strengthening its status in building material industry in Vietnam. Let us have a look back on Viglacera notable events, marked by impressive figures as below:
1. For the first time Viglacera’s combined profit before tax has reached over 1.000 billion VND, surpassing its initial target of 2017.
In 2017, under the authoritative, active
and flexible operation of Viglacera Corporation’s Board of Management, along
with a growing consensus among employees, the production and business
activities result has reached and also surpassed main targets. The corporation’s combined
revenue reached the amount of 16.486 billion dong, which is 10% higher that of
2016. Also, the Corporation combined profit before tax reached 1.019 billion VND,
equivalent to 122% of the year’s target, including 538.6 billion VND of gross
profit from parent company, a 22% higher than the performance in 2016. These
are record numbers Viglacera has managed to achieve until now.
2. Restructuring, reducing government capital and increasing authorized capital. Viglacera’s stock (VGC) is considered as an effective investment channel on HNX (Hanoi Stock Exchange)
With
the permission from Ministry of Construction, Viglacera Corporation
successfully issued 120 million stocks in May 2017, raising the charter capital
from 3.070 billion VND up to 4.270 billion VND. In the fourth quarter of 2017,
the Corporation continued to issue 21.35 million stocks for its employees
according to Employee stock ownership plan (ESOP 2017), raising charter capital
to 4,483.5 billion VND. Gross equity surplus after above-mentioned issues
amounted to 74,725 billion VND, whereas state’s ownership decreased to 53.97%.

According to Decision No. 1232/QĐ-TTg dated 17/08/2017 of the Prime Minister, State’s ownership in Viglacera will be scaled down to 36% in 2018 and 0% in 2019.
3. Viglacera claimed runner-up in top trustworthy building materials companies in 2017, top 500 the biggest companies in Vietnam VNR500, was honored the Vietnam Brand prize for the 9th consecutive time, and for the third time was awarded the prize from BID (Business Initiative Directions). Viglacera’s brand value has been increasing over time, endorsed by the State, business communities and consumers.
With unceasing effort, product and service quality innovation, and many achievements in production and business activities, Viglacera brand has growingly been recognized in both domestic and global market. The prestigious prizes Viglacera achieved in 2017 helped bolstering the leading position of Viglacera in Building materials industry and Real Estate in Vietnam, paving the way to globalize Vietnam’s products and services.
4. Ground-breaking ceremony of Super-white float glass factory on July 25th 2017
On the morning of July 24th 2017, at Phu My II expanded Industrial Zone, Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, Phu My Unltra clear Glass Ldt. Company held the ground-breaking ceremony for the super-white float glass factory with productivity at 600 tons a day (Phase 1) and total investment of over 2.423 million dong.
The company product line will include super-white float glass products and high-quality construction glass, satisfying the domestic and global demand in solar energy plant production.
5. Viglacera’s investment in Autoclaved aerated concrete and Panel with Hess Group.
In September 2017, Viglacera Corporation – JSC signed the contract with HESS ACC SYSTEMS (Federal Republic of Germany) on the supply of consulting service and high-tech equipment for the science technology project “Research and Manufacture of Autoclaved aerated concrete block and panel’s production line and technology”. Accordingly, Viglacera and HESS AAC SYSTEMS will cooperate in studying the use of the electric power industry’s waste such as fly ash and slag… This is a highly concerned issue since there is still no solution for the electric power industry’s waste.

Viglacera active and effective moves in this issue has been recognized by the award from Head of Ministry of Construction, with regards to the accomplishment in the “Adobe Bricks” program of the Prime Minister.
6. Viglacera boosted collaboration, investment and export to Cuba.
The collaboration and investment of Viglacera in Cuba continued to be boosted in 2017 with the support from both countries’ Ministries and Governments. In December 2017, Cuba’s Government authorized the SANVIG Joint-venture formed by Prodimat Company (Cuba) and Viglacera Corporation to reform two existing sanitary wares and tiles factory in Cuba. In addition, Viglacera continues to prepare for the Industrial Zone infrastructure at Mariel Economic Zone and establish a joint venture investment in the hotel sector of the Grand Caribe Group in Cuba.

Not only the trade promotion activities at the exhibition, but Viglacera also developed showroom series and showcases to increase brand awareness in Cuba. Total exports into Cuba in 2017 were valued at 7 million dollar, 2.3 times more than that of 2016.
7. One thriving year for Viglacera’s Industrial Zones with more “giant” investors
With noteworthy credit and reputation in Real estate – Industrial Zone investment, adjoined by geographic advantage, Viglacera managed to accomplish fruitful results, growingly attracting giant investors financing the construction of factories.

In 2017, 34 new customers signed the lease of Industrial Zone’s land, with the total area up to 98,1 hectars. The construction of a number of new factories was initiated in Dong Van IV Industrial Zone. Notably, the top investor from Korea, Samsung, also ploughed 2.5 billion dollar worth of capital into Yen Phong Industrial Zone, attracting further investment from satellite companies into Phu Ha Industrial Zone. Additionally, Toyoda Gosei Group – top corporation in Vietnam in car’s component part production decided to invest into Tien Hai Viglacera Industrial Zone.
8. Viglacera invested in building housing for workers, consolidating infrastructure, improving service for Industrial Zones.
From the beginning of 2017, Viglacera started the construction of two new housing for workers in Yen Phong (Bac Ninh) and Dong Van IV (Kinh Bang, Ha Nam) Industrial Zone. The Corporation carried on site clearance, infrastructure completion and further investment plans for Social housing projects in Tien Duong, Housing for workers in Kim Chung (Dong Anh)… Implementing the Prime Minister’s directions, Viglacera did an amazing job in firming the pioneership in social and workers’ house development.

The projects of Viglacera are invested equally in technology and public space infrastructure, modern planning and architecture, environmental-friendly ecosystem. The workers’ houses will to some extent solve the housing problems, indirectly supporting the workers financially and improving human resources in typical Industrial Zones.
9. Furthering research activities and investment in high-quality products, advancing towards high-end market.
Following the successful launch of high-tech energy-saving glass products, Viglacera is now developing high-end building materials, with the desire to satisfy even the strictest customer.

In 2017, Viglacera Corporation launched the Euro-quality Eurotiles Granite, together with latest sanitary wares and accessories sets, designed by Italian renowned experts. These product lines are promising, paving the way for future breakthrough of Viglacera.

In order to broaden knowledge, boost research efficiency, sharpen operational skills for employees, update and utilize latest world-class technology, in 2017, Viglacera organized several Science Technology and Human Resources Training & Improvement, as well as opened classes teaching foreign language, professional knowledge and skills for employees.
Viglacera wrapped up its 2017 with various success, setting the scene for a thriving 2018.
