Viglacera started the worker housing project - catching up demand for housing for staff and workers at the Yen Phong Industrial Zone - Bac Ninh

Currently there are about 1.9 million employees working in industrial zones, of which 70% are workers from other provinces having demand of rental housing. However only about 10% of the demand is met; the remaining 90% must rent lodging houses with difficult living conditions. Therefore, the issue of housing for workers is a concerned one of the Party, State and authorities at all levels in general, and Ministry of Construction in particular; and housing policies have been frequently renewed and improving, especially encouraging enterprises, organisations, individuals to invest in housing development for sale and rent. Besides, the strong inflow of foreign investment into Vietnam, particularly the $3 billion project of Samsung Display at Yen Phong Industrial Zone would certainly attract a large number of laborers from other provinces to Bac Ninh to live and work. With a reputation in real estate sector and social responsibility of enterprises, in the morning of 5/11/2015, Viglacera Corporation started the construction of worker housing project in Yen Phong Urban Area - Bac Ninh.

Yen Phong Industrial Zone is one of the leading industrial parks in Bac Ninh province and is considered a comprehensive and modern one, including high-tech and green manufacturing plant, not polluting the environment and destroying resources.

This is also the industrial zone attracting the largest investment capital in Vietnam with a total investment of nearly $ 8 billion USD, of which $ 7.2 billion coming from the FDI. It is also one of the IPs having high ratio of effective land use / total capital; with a total area of 246 ha industrial land, on average, each hectare of Yen Phong Industrial Zone has attracted 0.31 billion USD of investment. Yen Phong Industrial Zone is selected by major brands such as Samsung, Orion ... for locating their plants and thus attracting large workforce, addressing the job needs of more than 70,000 workers. The industrial zone has good infrastructure and housing conditions together with services, which meets the needs of recreation, entertainment, sports, leisure, learning and exchange.

Attending the ceremony, General Director of Department of Housing Management and Real Estate Market of MOC Nguyen Trong Ninh said: “Workers in industrial zones is particular object given precedence in the legal system of housing generally and in society particularly. In Bac Ninh, current population is over 1 million people, urban proportion is about 50%. Bac Ninh is among ones having high urban proportion of the country and has average housing area of 25,4m2 / person (according to 2014 figures). The province also witnesses an increasing pace of urbanization and industrial development, a growing number of workers in industrial parks. The province has 9/15 operating industrial parks employing total number of about 200,000 workers in the province. Of which about 50% are from other provinces and Bac Ninh having housing needs. Viglacera starting the housing project in Yen Phong urban area is one of the highlights, and creating decent housing zones providing services to personnel, professionals, and workers at Yen Phong Industrial Zone, while contributing to the implementation of housing development program in Bac Ninh by 2020.

The worker housing project having been started will continue to address the need of housing for workers, assisting enterprises investing in industrial zones, and also solving complicated issues of securities in the province.

The project consists of 03 six floor blocks, with a total investment of 80 billion VND, total building floor area of 19.072m2, having 439 apartments, of which 348 apartments for sale and 91 apartments for rent, each one has an area of 30.4 m2, expected selling price from 4.5 million / m2 (including VAT and maintenance costs), rental cost is estimated at 25,000 VND / m2. It is expected to hand over the first apartments in Q3 / 2016 and complete the project in the Q4 / 2016.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Nguyen Tien Nhuong – Provincial Commissioner, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of Bac Ninh province, on behalf of the leaders of Bac Ninh province assessed that the groundbreaking ceremony of Viglacera housing project, inaugurating water supply system with capacity of 20,000m3 and starting the wastewater treatment plant with capacity of 12.000m3 at Yen Phong Industrial Zone would significantly contribute to improving the reliability of infrastructure, technology, and also facilitating housing and water conditions for staff and workers.

Mr Nguyen Tien Nhuong also recognized and affirmed Viglacera attempting to overcome difficulties to positively contribute to the work of industrialization and modernization of Bac Ninh province.

Inauguration of the water supply system with capacity of 20,000m3 / day at Yen Phong Industrial Zone

Along with the housing and industrial development, aiming for sustainable development, environmental protection is one of the key objectives of environmental protection strategy in Vietnam. Environmental protection in urban parks and residential areas is guarantying green and clean living environment, reducing the impact of waste water polluting urban environment and area landscape. Viglacera inaugurated and put into use "the water supply system with capacity of 20,000m3 / day at Yen Phong Industrial Zone". This is a large –scale water treatment and supply system of Cau River in Bac Ninh province with total investment of 104 billion VND, when in operation the total capacity of clean water supply at Yen Phong Industrial Zone I will be increased to 35,000 m3 / day to meet the production requirements of enterprises at Yen Phong Industrial Zone I and expanding. The system uses technology of "Lament - self-cleaning pressure filter tanks", water after treatment meets standard QCVN 01-2009 / BYT.

Start of wastewater treatment plant with capacity 12.000m3 / day at Yen Phong Industrial Zone

Also, at the ceremony, Viglacera held the groundbreaking of wastewater treatment plant with capacity of 12.000m3 / day at Yen Phong Industrial Zone. The project has a total investment of about 90 billion VND, expected to be completed and put into operation in Q3 / 2016, increasing total volume of waste water treatment at Yen Phong Industrial Zone I to 22.000m3 / day that meets the waste water treatment need of factories. The system uses technology of "Physical Chemistry - Biology", waste water after treatment meets standard QCVN 40-2011 / MONRE column A.
