Bắc Ninh awards a one-billion USD investment certificate to Sam sung Display - Project implemented in Yên Phong Industrial Zone

On July 2nd, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province awarded a certificate of investment with a total budget of one-billion USD for Samsung Display limited liability company. This project will be carried out in the Yen Phong Industrial Zone with a capacity of 48 million products / year, creating approximately 8,000 jobs for employees with annual revenue of about $6 billion.

General Director of Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd Choi Young Kwon said that Sam Sung was very pleased to choose Bac Ninh as an investment location because of its modern infrastructure, adequate facilities, and excellence, abundant workforce.

After receiving the investment certificate, Samsung Display will start the project in July 2014. The Samsung Display project is expected to officially launch in the 1^st quarter of 2015. R&D and production of screen high resolution projects, including curved screen, will be implemented afterward. These electronic devices will be provided to Sam Sung Bac Ninh and Sam Sung Thai Nguyen Industrial Complexes, and exported to global markets. This will be the most advanced product of Samsung Display.

Chairman of the Bac Ninh People's Committee, Nguyen Nhan Chien, affirmed that Bac Ninh was known as an investment-attracted environment with dynamic, comprehensive development in multiple sectors; many of its socio-economic indicators ranked tops of the country.

Yen Phong Industrial Zone is considered one of major industrial zones in the north, with a total area of ​​658ha, of which Phase 1 covers an area of ​​344ha. To date, about 90% of the leasing land in Phase 1 has been filled by mostly global-brand Korean businesses such as Samsung, Orion, Flexcom, etc. The Industrial Zone was planned within a modern, infrastructure synchronization model at an extremely favourable location: located at the North – South corridor and East – West corridor, 22km away from Noi Bai International airport, 120km from Lang Son international gate, 110km from Hai Phong port, and 120km from Cai Lan port.
