General Secretary of the Dominican Republic’s United Left Movement had a working visit to Viglacera Corporation JSC

On August 28th 2018, during the visit to Vietnam, General Secretary of the Dominican Republic’s United Left Movement Mr. Mighen Meehia had a working visit to Viglacera Corporation JSC.

In a welcoming atmosphere, Mr. Mighen Meehia spent time visiting Viglacera's traditional house - the historic archive of building materials industry in Vietnam in general and Viglacera in particular. Mr. Mighen Meehia praised and appreciated the strength of Viglacera over the years to achieve today's success.

Mr. Mighen Meehia also expressed his surprise at the fact that Viglacera Corporation is not only the pioneer in applying new technology in building materials production but also the most successful enterprise in Vietnam in the field of infrastructure investment in industrial zones. The Corporation has attracted a lot of domestic and foreign enterprises with a wide range of business and production forms, occupying an important part of Vietnam's total export turnover in recent years.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - General Director of Viglacera Corporation had a brief introduction about Viglacera Corporation with a 44-year journey to build, develop and create a strong position as today. As a typical unit of the Building materials industry in Vietnam, Viglacera is gradually realizing the long-term development strategy with the orientation to reach the international market.

With the aim of combining the effectiveness of business management with the implementation of policies and programs of the Party and State in promoting international cooperation, in 2018 Viglacera has been implementing some investment projects in Cuba such as the establishment of an official representative - ViMariel SA company, operating in the field of industrial zone development in Mariel Special Zone; the establishment of Sanvig Joint venture between Viglacera Corporation and Prodimat Company of Cuban Building Materials Grroup (Geicon) specializing in the production of sanitary wares and tiles. These projects have received great appreciation from the leaders of the two countries Vietnam - Cuba, the leaders of the Caribbean countries, especially the Dominican government. At the same time, this is a foundation, a stepping stone for Viglacera to continue research and implement other international projects in Central American countries.

After expressing his thanks for the warm welcome of Viglacera Corporation, Mr. Mighen Meehia said that his presence today is a confirmation of the determination to connect Dominican enterprises with big enterprises in Vietnam like Viglacera Corporation. He promised to connect Viglacera with a number of matching potential businesses in Dominica. If investing in Dominica, Viglacera will have many advantages, especially in the field of buidling materials production and social housing projects.

Mr. Mighen Meehia also believes that with the strength and experience gained from the investment projects in Cuba, Viglacera Corporation will have more opportunities to succeed in the Dominican market as well as in the Caribbean. The Dominican Government will create conditions to support and connect Dominican-Vietnamese businesses, laying the foundations for deepening cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
