Viglacera organizes training course on environmental management and fire prevention

On April 10, at the Viglacera Research and Development Institute (Viglacera Corporation - JSC), the training course on environmental management and fire prevention and fighting officially opened. The program is expected to last for 5 days with the participation of 52 officers in charge of environment, safety, and technology from member units of the Corporation. 

Mr. Quach Huu Thuan - Deputy General Director of the Corporation and Ms. Cao Thi Nhung - Head of Personnel Department of the Corporation attended and directed the Course.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Thai Thanh - Director of Viglacera Research and Development Institute - emphasized the important role of environmental work and fire prevention in production and business activities, and affirmed that this is a priority in the sustainable development strategy of the Corporation.

The training course includes 8 key topics, focusing on updating knowledge, improving management skills and law enforcement in the fields of environment and fire prevention and fighting. Some typical contents include: Topic 1: Environmental monitoring and treatment at Viglacera; Topic 2: Current legal regulations related to environmental crimes; Topic 3: Overview of the system of legal documents on environmental protection, emphasizing new points in the Law on Environmental Protection and Decrees guiding implementation related to environmental criteria, strategic environmental assessment (SEA), preliminary and detailed environmental impact assessment (EIA). Topic 4: Environmental licenses, environmental registration. Regulations on waste management guidelines in enterprises. Topic 5: Vietnam eco-label for construction material products. Topic 6: Investigation skills, collection, processing and management of data information in environmental monitoring activities. Topic 7: Legal knowledge, knowledge of fire prevention and fighting suitable for the Corporation. Topic 8: Fire prevention and fighting and rescue skills.  

The teaching staff at the training course are experienced experts from many specialized agencies such as: Environmental Center of the Institute, Environmental Police, Department of Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development & Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), Department of Environmental Pollution Control, University of Natural Resources and Environment, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department. The participation of specialized units helps ensure that the training content is closely related to reality, while providing a multi-dimensional perspective on environmental management and fire prevention in the fields of production, construction and investment development.

For a unit that has both construction material factories and manages large industrial parks with many factories, including FDI enterprises, environmental monitoring and treatment as well as establishing standard environmental monitoring records according to legal standards will have a great effect in preventing, monitoring, detecting and promptly handling incidents as well as potential harmful factors"

In particular, on the last day, the trainees will participate in a field trip program, visiting a typical business model of the Corporation to learn practical experience in environmental management and fire prevention. The trainees will have a direct exchange with experts on environmental work at the unit. The training course is a practical activity, demonstrating Viglacera's strong commitment to complying with the law, improving the quality of environmental management, labor safety, towards sustainable development.
