VIGLACERA started construction of Tien Hai IZ – 1st phase and inaugurated the “Expanded investment in premium Granite Tiles production – 2nd phase – Viglacera Thai Binh factory” project

In the atmosphere of welcoming new year, celebrating 86th establishment ceremony of Vietnam Communist Party and success of the 12th National Party Congress, on 19/2/2016, Viglacera Corporation solemnly organized Groundbreaking ceremony of Tien Hai IZ – 1st phase and the inauguration of the “Expanded investment in premium Granite tiles production – 2nd phase – Viglacera Thai Binh factory” project at Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province.

Attending the ceremony: from the Central government agencies were Member of the Party Central Committee - Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha, leaders of the Administration, Department of MOC, leader of the Foreign Investment Department - MPI; From the locality were Secretary of Thai Binh Party Committee Pham Van Sinh, member of the Party Central Committee - Chairman of Thai Binh People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Dien, members of Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of People’s Committee, Departments in Thai Binh, Tien Hai district, and local communes, and Viglacera Corporation BOD, financial institutions for commercial credit, investors and investment promotion organizations nationally and internationally.

Tien Hai IZ has a total area of 446 ha at Tien Hai district. 1st phase of the project has 31.79 ha area; total investment is above 174 billion VND; including 26.6 ha for construction land, accounting for over 83% of the IZ phase 1; The remaining land is for technical infrastructure, traffic, trees. The project will create jobs for nearly 30,000 workers in the province. The IZ offers attractive leasing rates and land available for lease. Infrastructure construction progress is expected to complete in 09/2016, and the business area of the 1st phase will be filled in 2017.

Tien Hai IZ is an important project carrying both political and economical meanings with its central position in the northern region, located on the economic development corridor of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong – Thai Binh - Nam Dinh - Ninh Binh; the IZ has an extremely favorable position on road: located right on the coastal route connecting Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh; about 60km from Tien Lang airport - Hai Phong; on waterway there are Diem Dien port, Lach Huyen sea port, Haiphong port.

In addition to convenient transportation, Tien Hai IZ also has great advantages in energy when located in Tien Hai gas field with CNG reserving hundred billion m3 of gas. In 2015, Nothern Low Pressure Gas Enterprise, under PetroVietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Joint Stock Company, has been inaugurated and ready to supply gas to the entire North region. In the IZ there is also a gas collection and distribution project, providing natural gas to businesses in the IZ and neighboring provinces. Creating advantages for the development of industries using more fuel as building materials industry: ceramic tiles, sanitary wares, glass, white cement, porcelain, ceramic art ... the IZ in Thai Binh also enjoys other mineral resources such as mineral water with large reserves having been exploited and used effectively; Additionally the IZ is located on the Red River coal mine with 210 billion tonne reserve, planned to exploit by the Goverment. Besides, the coastal area with traditional fishing grounds also gives Tien Hai IZ an advantage in developing food processing industry, aquaculture ...

From these above advantages, Tien Hai IZ establishes high-tech industrial plants, light industry plants. Priorities are given to: building material Industry; agricultural, forest and sea food processing industry; Textile industry and textile supporting industry ... along with modern wastewater, solid waste treatment solutions, operational services with international standards, thus, a green, clean and sustainable IZ would be created. Tien Hai IZ is considered an optimal choice for businesses using large amounts of natural gas as well as haing production development.

At the ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of People’s Committee in Thai Binh Nguyen Hong Dien said: Tien Hai IZ is 01 of 06 centralized industrial zones in the province. During the last time, Tien Hai IZ has attracted almost 50 investment projects with total registered capital of over VND 5,100 billion, creating jobs for thousands of workers. Viglacera Corporation being investor in both infrastructure development and the IZ would be an important factor and a favorable condition for making Tien Hai IZ an attractive destination to domestic and foreign investors in the coming years.

Currently, Viglacera has successfully implemented some typical IZs such as Tien Son IZ, Yen Phong IZ in Bac Ninh; Hai Yen IZ, Dong Mai IZ in Quang Ninh; Phu Ha IZ in Phu Tho; Phong Dien IZ in Thua Thien Hue with a total area of over 2,000 hectares. The above mentioned IZs have attracted over 180 major investors at home and abroad, particularly Samsung, Canon, ABB, Texhong, Vinamilk ...; attracted more than 100 thousands of employees, contributed over VND 5,000 billion into the state budget and approximately 20% of the national export turnover. The most typical of these is Yen Phong IZ – Bac Ninh, which is attracting the largest investment amount in the country with nearly 8 billion US dollars, export turnover of nearly 28 billion dollars in 2015.

Evaluating the investment of Viglacera, Member of the Party Central Committee - Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha said Viglacera Corporation has diverted its investment to urban and IZ development.

To protect the environment in the best way for the project and the people, Deputy Minister also suggested Viglacera having better preparation for this project, as well as requested local leaders to create the best conditions for this project implementation.

On the same day, Viglacera Corporation held a inauguration ceremony of the “Expanded investment in premium Granite tiles production – 2nd phase – Viglacera Thai Binh factory” project. The project has a total capacity of 2 million m2 / year, creating jobs for nearly 150 workers in the province. Key product line of the project is high-end granite tiles with large size of 600x600; 400x800; 800x800 (mm) printed on digital printers. Compared to the ceramic and semi-ceramic products, this high-end granite product has outstanding features such as: high-intensity ≥42 N / mm2, low water absorption ≤ 0.2%, high precision, natural pattern, ability to create 3D effects, the edges being trimmed precisely, easy to handle during installation. Especially when combined with nanotechnology, the product has ultra-glossy and ultra waterproof surface. In addition to meeting domestic demands, the product will be exported to European countries, Taiwan, Indonesia and other countries in the world.

Particularly, the entire production process of the plant is operated by technical staff at most optimal efficiency, under ISO 14000. Water used for grinding is processed and circulated 100%, fuel used is 100% clean, natural gas.

The plant uses natural gas for kiln. Compared to the use of coal-gas, natural gas is more economical efficiency, which reduces initial investment cost, even quality of products thanks to stable operating mode and by clean natural gas source, no impurities, and increases the longevity of the device.
